WFA'S FIRST EVER ENGLAND LADIES TRIAL

Beautiful weather helped to make the first ever Women's England Walking Football trials a success last Saturday at Solihull Football Centre near Birmingham. Some excellent talent was on show but perhaps more important was the attitude, spirit, support and togetherness shown by everyone across the age groups. The over 40's and 50's trialists (over 50 in all) representing their clubs from across the country were put into teams which then played each other in shorter matches than planned due to the heat!

The second trial will take place again at centralised Solihull Football Centre on 12th October where Stuart Langworthy and his team look forward to welcoming back those successful candidates from Saturdays trial and a few new comers. The chosen England women's teams first match will be in Guernsey before the end of the year. The WFA are still seeking a Manager for the ladies teams and anyone interested should contact Paul Carr on paulcarr@thewfa.co.uk.
