Earlier this month Simon Dyer took a team from Solihull Football Centre to represent BWFC in a tournament in Spain. The hospitality they received from the home team was second to non, from the fabulous facilities they played at to the camaraderie off the pitch. For many of Simons team it was their first experience of competitive football against a quality set up.
The three one hour games were played throughout the week in 28-30 degree heat in the three touch format. The teams – AC Benahavis Over 60’s & Over 65* (*Over 65’s were the 2024 Eurocopa League Champions in Spain and the Over 60’s finalists in the Trophy Competition in Portugal).
The games were close despite the home advantage and multiple subs compared to the BWFC one!

AC Benahavis made them all feel most welcome, with a great team spirit and friendly atmosphere from both sides. The teams especially enjoyed the get together off the pitch after each game for drinks! Well done lads.
